Geographic Solutions is highlighting security protections for its AI-enabled workforce development platform during Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Its Virtual OneStop® Sapphire platform uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI to connect job seekers with career opportunities and help employers identify candidates. The company says the cloud software uses a GOVRAMP-authorized, ISO 27001-certified framework aligned with NIST 800-53 standards and zero-trust principles. Industry data from Cisco says 86% of organizations have begun moving toward a zero-trust model.

Security For Workforce Systems

Geographic Solutions says its controls continuously verify, monitor, and safeguard AI-driven interactions, data exchanges, and cloud access points.

The software supports job seekers and employers while handling public-sector data through a security approach where users, devices, and requests are not trusted automatically.

Zero Trust And AI

As agencies adopt AI utilities, Geographic Solutions is integrating zero-trust architecture into its tools to help public organizations expand their technical capabilities while protecting community data from cloud vulnerabilities.

The company discussed this approach in a recent episode of its VOScast Podcast, featuring Chief Information Security Officer Felipe Medina.

“As business leaders, we must recognize that responsible AI adoption requires more than simply embracing new technology. It demands clear policies, strong oversight, collaboration across departments, and a shared understanding of acceptable business uses and risks. Organizations must also regularly evaluate and strengthen their cybersecurity and incident response strategies to keep pace with these evolving threats,”

Responsible AI Adoption

Medina was recently named to the OnCon Icon Awards Global Information Security Professional Top 10 List. Geographic Solutions says its workforce systems serve more than 40 states and U.S. territories, with software used by over 1,100 American Job Centers and accessible to over 211 million people.

“Ultimately, here at GSI our perspective is that AI should empower people, not replace sound judgment. Innovation and security must advance together, ensuring that the pursuit of efficiency never comes at the expense of trust, accountability, or the organization's long-term resilience,”
