Capxel Launches LLM-LD Website Standard
Capxel launches LLM-LD, a free open standard for making website content readable by AI agents and retrieval systems.

Capxel has launched LLM-LD, an open standard designed to make website content readable by AI systems, retrieval pipelines, and autonomous agents. The standard is already deployed across more than 100 sites worldwide. LLM-LD gives websites a single structured index for content, product data, and knowledge graphs. It is free to implement, with no licensing fees.
A Standard For AI Discovery
LLM-LD defines file formats, discovery methods, and three conformance levels for websites. Its index file, located at .well-known/llm-index.json, provides a single entry point for AI systems, while its AI Discovery Page specification links to AI-layer resources.
Nick Dunev, Founder and CEO at Capxel, stated:
“JSON-LD solved machine readability for search engines. LLM-LD solves it for AI,”
Built From AI Search Work
The standard emerged from Capxel’s AI Search Optimization work, which focuses on structuring brand content for discovery by AI agents. Capxel says AI systems retrieve and synthesize web content differently from traditional search crawlers.
Nick Dunev, Founder and CEO at Capxel, stated:
“Every major AI system — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude — retrieves and synthesizes web content differently than traditional search crawlers. There was no standard for how websites should present themselves to these systems. Now there is.”

Open Access And Implementation
The specification is available under a Creative Commons BY 4.0 license through llmld.org. Developers, agencies, and platforms can implement it without vendor lock-in. Capxel also offers managed deployment, optimization, and analytics services.
Dominick Luna, Capxel Co-Founder and President, stated:
“LLM-LD gives every brand — regardless of size or technical capability — a clear path to get there.”
