Red Bull Basement will conclude its 2026 World Final in San Francisco tomorrow, with 40 national winning teams pitching startup ideas turned into working MVP demos using AI tools and vibe coding. The program drew more than 100,000 applicants worldwide and is hosting its first U.S. World Final. Its global winner will receive $100,000 in equity-free funding, $25,000 in Microsoft Azure credits and mentorship from Red Bull Ventures. The incubator is aimed at first-time founders, who can apply with an idea but no prototype, registered company or equity commitment.

From Ideas To MVPs

Red Bull Basement runs in four phases: application, national finals, a development phase and the World Final. From May 18 to 30, national winners used vibe coding, building functional software through natural-language prompts to AI, to develop their projects into MVP demos.

The finalists include Germany’s Please Touch This Art, which uses AI and 3D printing to make museum art tactile for blind and visually impaired people. Belgium’s SIGNIVO is an AI smart glove designed to convert sign language into spoken words, while Japan’s LU-MOS is a common-standard rover platform for lunar operations. Canada’s TruthShield AI is an agentic AI face detection shield.

A Route For First Timers

The program does not require founders to have a prototype or registered company when they enter. Red Bull also takes no equity at any point, leaving the winner’s funding and Azure credits as non-dilutive support for early-stage work.

The competition’s previous winner, Aldrin Sojourner “Soj” Gamayon of the Philippines, developed AgriConnect after carrying out 80 farmer interviews, including an interview with his uncle. The project is intended to help smallholder farmers monitor crops, manage pests and build resilience against typhoons.

“This wasn't just about competing or winning. It's about sharing moments and memories with people who are like-minded,”

Funding At The World Final

The 2026 World Final brings teams from 40 countries to San Francisco, where they will pitch their working demos. For aspiring founders with a community problem to solve, Red Bull Basement offers a structured route from a first idea to a global startup pitch stage, with funding available to the winning team.
