Joseph Business School Awards $16,500 at BLC

Joseph Business School awarded more than $16,500 to entrepreneurs at its 2026 Business & Leadership Conference in Chicago.

Joseph Business School brought more than 2,000 in-person attendees and over 900 online participants to its 2026 Business & Leadership Conference, awarding more than $16,500 to entrepreneurs and innovators. The March 20 and 21 hybrid event drew entrepreneurs, innovators, and faith-driven leaders from 14 countries. Its Venture Capital Pitch Competition awarded $9,000 across three businesses, while graduate Joyce Awosika received the $7,500 Global Entrepreneur Award. The conference also included six keynote speakers, workshops, panels, networking events, and business showcases.

Pitch Competition Winners

The annual BLC Venture Capital Pitch Competition featured 10 participants seeking funding and exposure. Dwight James, founder of Go-Ce, won $5,000 for first place. Dapo Kolawole, founder of Roomii, received $3,000 for second place, and Evelyn Davis-Phillips, founder of Splyt N Half Kitchen LLC, received $1,000 for third place.

Roomii is a platform designed to address housing and roommate solutions. Splyt N Half Kitchen LLC was recognized for its growing culinary business concept, while Go-Ce was awarded for its business solution.

Awards For JBS Graduates

Joyce Awosika, a 2022 JBS graduate and founder and managing director of ORIKI Group in Nigeria, received the 2026 Global Entrepreneur Award and a $7,500 check. ORIKI Group is a wellness and beauty company with more than 106 beauty and wellness brands across Africa and internationally.

More than 200 alumni attended JBS Global Alumni Day. Four JBS alumni who reached $1 million in business revenue were inducted into the JBS Alumni Association’s Million Heirs Club, bringing its membership to more than 60 alumni.

Business Events And Showcases

The Executive Experience welcomed 90 attendees. The Apex Business Showcase hosted 70 booths and sold 469 tickets, while the Business Opportunity Expo included 79 booths featuring businesses and resources.

Conference Focus

Founded by Dr. Bill Winston, Joseph Business School hosted the event around the theme “The Blessing: Anointed for Business.” The school positions its programs for entrepreneurs seeking practical and spiritual business principles, with a focus on ownership, entrepreneurship, wealth building, and business growth.
