Lifeline AI Wins $100,000 Red Bull Basement Prize
Lifeline AI wins $100,000 in equity-free funding at the 2026 Red Bull Basement World Final in San Francisco.

Red Bull Basement has awarded Darnell Adler and his company Lifeline AI its 2026 World Final title in San Francisco. The win brings $100,000 in equity-free funding, $25,000 in Microsoft Azure credits and mentorship from Red Bull Ventures. More than 138,000 applicants from over 40 countries entered the startup competition, its largest edition to date. Lifeline AI is a personal safety platform built for people who need to send an emergency alert without visibly unlocking a phone, dialing a number or speaking.
A Discreet Safety Tool
Lifeline AI is designed to help users communicate emergencies discreetly when visible interaction could increase risk or delay assistance. The platform won after competing at the World Final, the first Red Bull Basement event hosted in the United States.
“I still don't have words for this, I'm shaking. Being the Red Bull Basement global winner means that I can help people at scale. Lifeline AI is going to make the world a safer place.”
Support For First Time Founders
Red Bull Basement is aimed at first-time founders and student entrepreneurs who want to turn early ideas into products and businesses. Entrants can participate without an established company, technical background or co-founder, developing ideas individually or in teams.
The program gives participants AI development tools, mentorship, startup education and opportunities to refine ideas before presenting them on a global stage. It does not take equity from participants, allowing founders to retain ownership while accessing technology resources, industry experts and funding opportunities.

Building With AI Prompts
Founders used vibe coding, a method of building software through natural-language prompts rather than traditional programming, to create and improve minimum viable products. Red Bull Basement positions the approach as a way for people without software engineering experience to build software, test ideas and launch ventures.
For early-stage entrepreneurs, the competition offers a route to develop a working MVP and compete for funding while keeping full ownership of their ideas.
