Apricity Publishing has released CLIFF: A Money Mindset for Longer Lives and Shorter Careers in India, bringing author Prashant Agarwal’s personal finance book to readers facing longer lifespans and less predictable careers. The book presents a six-step framework called Comfortable Living In Financial Flexibility, or CLIFF. It is aimed at students, women managing their wealth, and mid-career professionals dealing with corporate volatility. Apricity is also offering interactive workplace workshops tied to the book.

A Framework for Career Change

The book argues that the traditional path of education, stable employment, and retirement security no longer matches many working lives. It focuses on financial habits and behavior rather than spreadsheets, and draws on Agarwal’s 25 years of experience in financial services and human behavior.

“While previous generations could expect a linear career and retire with predictable pensions, today's professionals face multiple career transitions, unexpected pauses, and sudden reinventions. Worse, financial literacy remains abysmally low; barely one in three people globally possess a basic understanding of compounding and money mechanics. Employees report losing more than seven hours a week worrying about their financial future. This creates a unique paradox: if you aren't prepared, living longer can financially kill you.”

Illustrations and Workplace Sessions

CLIFF includes illustrations by Marketoonist cartoonist Tom Fishburne. Apricity is pairing the release with corporate workshops, including sessions titled The AI Ambush: Money Readiness for Shorter, Unstable Careers and The Longevity Paradox: Architecting the Financial Future for a 100-Year Life.

Workshop participants will receive access to the CLIFF Compass Assessment, which identifies a personal money archetype, such as the Consistent Compounder or Worrier Warrior, and provides a personalized financial flexibility plan.

Who the Book Is For

Apricity positions the title for people at different stages of working life, from students starting their careers to executives handling job uncertainty. The publisher says the book combines cartoons, exercises, and practical guidance to help readers build more financial choice.

“Though money impacts each one of us, talking about its management is ironically often viewed as an intellectual activity reserved for a select few. In CLIFF, Prashant brilliantly blends sharp cartoons, practical exercises, and actionable insights to empower readers to own their financial narratives. Whether you are a student starting out, a woman looking to take charge of her wealth, or a mid-career executive navigating corporate volatility, this book proves it is never too early or too late to build optionality. We are thrilled to bring this international bestseller to Indian readers.”

A Practical Money Mindset

The India release gives workers and job seekers a plain-language resource centered on financial flexibility during career transitions. Its stated alternative to the FIRE movement is a model built around comfortable living while preparing for change, rather than extreme austerity.
