Complex's Pixel-Powered Content Nearly Doubles in a Quarter
Complex says content made on Google Pixel, its official company device since 2025, nearly doubled quarter over quarter, with 85% daily use.

Complex, the youth culture and music lifestyle platform, says its Pixel-powered content has nearly doubled quarter over quarter since it made Google Pixel its official company device in 2025. Complex also reports 100% activation and 85% sustained daily active usage across the company since the switch. Its editorial team is now upgrading to the Google Pixel 11.
Phones In The Newsroom
Complex staff use the Pixel's pro camera and video functions to capture real-time content at cultural moments in sports, fashion, art and music. Real-time news and event coverage now makes up the largest share of everything Complex publishes from the device.
“When we made Pixel our official device, the goal was giving our team technology that could actually keep pace with how fast culture moves. Upgrading our editorial team to the Pixel 11 is proof of that — a device that can keep up with one of the fastest-moving newsrooms in media, in real time. This partnership keeps evolving because it keeps delivering, and Culture in Focus is some of the most exciting work it's produced yet.”
A Fashion Campaign Shot On Pixel 11
The upgrade comes with "Culture in Focus," an editorial fashion campaign from Complex and Google Pixel and the second phase of the two companies' multi-year enterprise partnership. Google Creator Labs photographers Dana Scruggs, Justin French and Campbell Addy shot it on the Pixel 11, covering 11 years of style trends Complex has helped define.

The trends run from 2016's Aggro Merch and 2017's Dadcore through Construction Couture, Vertical Video E-Boy, Lockdown Leisure, Rebirth of Baggy, Workwear Revival, Upscale Streetwear and Y2K, up to 2025's Bedazzled and 2026's Urban Adventurer. Each photographer used the Pixel 11's camera and pro features for fashion-editorial portraits, and the final images were finished with third-party editing software.

The series ends with digital boards at the 10th anniversary of ComplexCon on October 3 and 4. Select images will also appear on a billboard in Los Angeles near the LA Convention Center.
