JB Hi-Fi Expands Vusion Digital Shelf Technology

JB Hi-Fi plans to deploy Vusion’s digital shelf-edge technology across its stores after a successful pilot, with a full rollout also planned for its New Zealand store network. The retailer will keep its established in-store shelf-edge communication style. Vusion’s platform will show pricing and product information at the shelf and give store teams access to product details there. The deployment will connect with JB Hi-Fi’s existing wireless infrastructure through Cisco Meraki.

Shelf Information For Store Teams

Vusion’s platform supports contactless interactions with store PDAs, giving team members access to product information at the shelf edge. The information can include available models, colors, financing information, and expanded product content. JB Hi-Fi expects the system to reduce repetitive manual tasks and improve consistency between online and in-store information.

Using Existing Store Networks

Through Vusion’s native integration with Cisco Meraki, JB Hi-Fi will connect the platform to wireless infrastructure already deployed in its stores. The release says this should mean less extra infrastructure and a simpler rollout, with lower running costs and a smaller environmental footprint.

The rollout will bring JB Hi-Fi’s shelf-edge communications onto the Vusion platform across its Australian stores and New Zealand network. Store teams will get easier access to pricing and product details, alongside the retailer’s own merchandising approach.
