Givebutter Launches AI Tools for Nonprofit Teams
Givebutter Magic AI tools join new email, reporting, video, finance, and fundraising features for nonprofit teams on Givebutter.

Givebutter has introduced dozens of updates to its fundraising and donor management platform, led by Givebutter Magic, a suite of AI tools for nonprofits. The company announced the releases during The Spread livestream on October 1. Its core fundraising tools are free, and nonprofits pay zero processing or platform fees when optional donor tips are enabled. After the event, Givebutter and We Are For Good held a hackathon for nonprofit professionals.
AI Tools For Fundraising
Givebutter Magic is designed to help teams create campaigns, review donor activity, find supporter segments, and ask questions about donor data and campaign performance. Its campaign creator, suggested amounts, and recommended goals use aggregated and de-identified data across Givebutter.
Contact summaries provide an overview of a supporter’s activity and giving history, while smart filters help teams identify contact insights. AI connectors link Givebutter with tools including ChatGPT and Claude.
“Fundraising runs on relationships, and AI should give nonprofits more time for them. Givebutter Magic handles the repetitive work behind the scenes so nonprofit teams can spend more time with supporters, strengthen their communities, and focus on the work that only humans can do.”
Email And Video Updates
A redesigned email editor adds nonprofit-specific templates, drag-and-drop content, and brand controls for Gmail, Outlook, and mobile. Givebutter Plus subscribers can add live goal bars, auction items, tickets, and peer-to-peer leaderboards to emails.
The platform also now lets teams record and send video messages from a CRM contact profile. Those videos remain connected to each donor’s profile alongside other relationship records.
Reporting And Financial Features
New pre-built reports cover fundraising, recurring giving, donor health, and marketing progress. Users can compare performance across time periods, filter by campaign or giving type, and view donor locations on a live map.
Other releases include mobile check acceptance, expense management, donor portals, a native Wix integration, and a POINT integration for volunteer contacts and service hours.
Hackathon Puts Tools To Work
The Spread hackathon included in-person meetups in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Indianapolis, and Denver. Participants used self-guided playbooks to develop work they could implement immediately, including fundraising campaigns, 90-day fundraising plans, recurring giving programs, and Giving Tuesday preparation.
