Viking Mergers & Acquisitions has opened a Memphis, Tennessee, office, its 19th location and fourth Tennessee office opened in less than five years. Managing Partner Kyle Kerrigan will lead the expansion into West Tennessee. The firm serves privately held businesses with annual revenue from $2 million to $250 million, offering complimentary valuations, valuation updates, exit planning, and M&A advisory services. The new office is aimed at founders seeking support with succession, sale preparation, and finding buyers.

A Broader Mid South Market

Viking selected Memphis for its mix of logistics, manufacturing, health care, distribution, and service businesses. The firm sees the region’s private companies and industrial infrastructure as a basis for ownership-transition and M&A work in the lower middle market.

“The Memphis market stood out because it's not a one-industry market. It has the logistics backbone people know, but it also has manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, and a strong foundation of service businesses across the region. That combination creates the kind of privately-held-business community where local owners need thoughtful transition guidance and where buyers are willing to pay attention.”

Local Support For Owners

Kerrigan opened Viking’s Nashville office in 2021 and has led the firm’s Middle Tennessee work since then. Before joining Viking, he led international transactions for GNC and held leadership roles at FedEx, United Technologies, and Carrier.

The Memphis team will work with business owners and their advisors on succession planning, valuation, timing, and buyer alignment. Viking’s services are intended for small and middle-market owners considering a sale or purchase of a business.

“This is a market with real depth. You have long-established private companies, strong transportation and industrial infrastructure, and an advisory community that understands how important planning is for business owners. Many founders don't start preparing early enough, so having a local presence matters. It allows us to have better conversations sooner and help owners think through value, timing, and the kind of outcome they want for the business they've built.”
